Graduation Photography - Frequently Asked Questions

My popular graduation photography packages are a great way to mark your Oxford Graduation.   My graduation photography sessions are very simple and relaxed but there are some questions I am regularly asked!

How long is my graduation photoshoot?

My graduation photoshoots normally last a minimum of 30 minutes or one hour. For packages with more than one graduate I will shoot for up to two hours.

When should I do my shoot?

You are welcome to choose any time around your graduation ceremony.  The graduation days can be quite busy, and Some graduates like to choose the day before or day after their ceremonies.

The time before the graduation ceremony can often be quite busy, so it is often more convenient to meet after your ceremony.

Can you take pictures of the Ceremony for me?

Unfortunately no.  The University of Oxford have their own photographers for the ceremony, and I am not able to take pictures inside the Sheldonian Theatre.

Where do you do the Graduation Shoot?

My graduation photoshoots are done in the centre of Oxford.  They are normally in the area around Radcliffe Square and the Bodleian Library.

Please be aware that many of the locations in the city are working academic buildings so photography is subject to acceptance or permission. It is a good idea to have your Bod Card or Alumni ID with you.

If you would like photos inside colleges this is not normally a problem, but you will need to get permission from the porters in advance.
Unfortunately, I am not able to take pictures inside the Divinity School or Sheldonian Theatre.   The grounds around the Sheldonian Theatre are also closed during while other Graduation Ceremonies are taking place.

What happens if it rains?

Rain is possible in the UK at almost any time of year.   If it does rain, I will work around the weather and do my best to be flexible for you.  However, I cannot guarantee to offer an alternate appointment and am not able to offer refunds due to the weather.

What should bring and what should I wear?

Most graduates choose to wear the academic dress that they wear for the ceremony. Please be prepared for the weather.  You are welcome to wear your heels but remember that  there we will some walking between locations and that Radcliffe Square is cobbled.

Popular tourist spots sadly do attract thieves so please be careful with your bags and belongings. I recommend carrying as little as possible with you.

Can I bring my family?

Yes, you are very welcome to bring family and friends for photos together!

When will I get my pictures?

I will send you a link to your edited gallery within 2-3 weeks of our shoot together. Photos are delivered in an online gallery.

How many photos will I get?

Depending on the package that you choose, either five or ten images are included as a free download.  These are selected from a gallery of around 50 – 80 edited photos.  You are also welcome to purchase additional images from your gallery.

How to I book my graduation session?
