I get a real buzz from working as an event photographer. I love that every event is unique. Being an Oxford event photographer means that I get to work in a wonderful city with brilliant buildings and a historic backdrop. Some of my favourites event venues include Oxford Town Hall, The Oxford Union, The Oxford Artisan Distillery and Freud.
I also enjoy travelling and love working in different locations and new venues. As a dance addict myself, I love to photograph dancing and performers and have shot events and festivals in the UK and Europe.
My style is reportage or documentary – getting into the heart of on event and capturing the atmosphere, detail, and moments. A documentary style is designed to produce natural photography that tells the story of your event. I like to work in a relaxed and unobtrusive way seeking to blend in, amongst your guests and also take some time pick out some of the signature details.
It is true to say that event photography it is really about ‘capturing the moment’ and creating a great collection of photos to record your event. To do this needs planning. I also understand that there are important or formal parts of an occasion where great photos are needed too. Because of this, I like to plan ahead and my event fee always includes a pre-event consultation. I use this meeting to get to know your event, and your venue, what makes it different and what’s important to you.
